“Magical realism is literature, painting, film, and theater that, while encompassing a range of subtly different concepts, share in common an acceptance of magic in the rational world” – Wikipedia
For me, magical realism is when someone put a magical or fantasy things without making it feels weird and look like natural like it usually happens in real life. For example is “Life of Pie”, this film use a magical realism. Why? when we imagine we were isolated in the boat with a tiger without any food and nothing we can do, it feels impossible but they make it look like possible. That is the purpose of magical realism, make it more dramatic and natural. So, for me, magical realism is one choice for someone who wants to make their film more interesting.
