In week 4 I was learning about  A History of Storytelling : Oral Stories

oral storytelling is a tradition between the storyteller and the listener, usually, they in the close distance, for example, the listener sit down to make a circle surround the storyteller.

In class we discuss The Famished Road is a novel  written by Ben Okri that already categorize as magical realism. Novel that was published in 1991 has a unique narrative style incorporating the spirit world with the “real” world in what some have classified as magical realism.

Another one is Salman Rushdie’s 1981 novel, ‘Midnight’s Children’, was phenomenal not only because of its literary inventiveness and fresh style of storytelling but also because of the many ways in which it marked the beginning of what is now known as Indian writing in English.

For me some oral stories that i have to hear are Nenek Moyangku Seorang Pelaut ad Caca Marica.  Nenek Moyangku Seorang Pelaut is a song that based on true story. Because actually Indonesia in the past is one of the stronger maritime  so our grand grandmother or father is already getting their peace and full.  And the next one is ca America, actually it is about a little girl that get lost until more than 2 years and they can found you whenever you are.
